Internships at the JPO Service Centre


The Junior Professional Service Centre (JPOSC) offers internship positions in Copenhagen.

The JPOSC administers the recruitment and the benefits and entitlements of all Junior Professional Officers (JPOs) working with UNDP as well as some other UN agencies. We are looking for interns with a solid background and/or a strong interest in Human Resources, Business Administration, Economics, Political or Social Science, Communication and Computer Science.

The objectives of the JPOSC Internship Programme are:

  • To offer students from diverse academic backgrounds the opportunity to get experience with an international human resources management as well as the work of the UNDP;
  • To provide JPOSC with the assistance of qualified students specialized in various professional fields through specific project-based assignments.

JPOSC offers one internship position at a time, and Internship vacancies are offered on a competitive basis throughout the year. Please keep in mind that the JPOSC will only contact candidates who are enrolled in a university (under)graduate programme and who will return to their studies after the internship.

 

Procedure

In order to apply for an internship position with JPOSC, you are kindly requested to complete the online application form and submit it to JPOSC. We only accept online applications. Please indicate the period of availability. You should send us your application between 2 and 6 months prior to a possible internship date.

Eligibility/Conditions

Interns may be accepted if the following conditions are met:

  • Applicants have to be enrolled in a graduate/postgraduate (or equivalent) program during the application and the internship period, and must have completed at least 50% of their studies;
  • Applicants shall have an excellent command of spoken and written English. Knowledge of a second UN language is an advantage;
  • Preferred field of studies: Social or Political Science, Economics, Business Administration, Human Resources, Communication and Computer Science.

The internship period should not be shorter than 3 months and not longer than 6 months. The JPOSC cannot offer shorter or longer internhips.

 

Expenses

Please note that the internship at JPOSC is not remunerated in any way. The applicant has to take care of all expenses for visas, travel, accommodation, transportation, etc., and is responsible for all necessary visas and other documents that are needed for his/her stay in Copenhagen/Denmark.

Furthermore, the applicant is fully responsible for all insurances during his/her stay in Copenhagen. He or she is obliged to hold a health insurance.

Please be aware, that Copenhagen is one of the most expensive European cities when it comes to living costs. Please see below an estimate of monthly costs of living.

The costs for transportation (to and from Copenhagen) and for possible visas (if necessary) are not included. Please refer to Copenhagen on a low Budget for further information about living in Copenhagen.
