Vacancies are usually announced once a year at the beginning of each new programme year (1 February) by the Bureau for International Organizations' Personnel (BFIO).

Requirements
To be eligible to apply to the German JPO Programme, candidates must:
- Be no more than 32 years of age
- Hold a post-graduate degree
- Have practical experience in the relevant area
- Have fluency in English and another UN language.
