Timeline
The deadline for receipt of applications is 7 October 2008 (midnight, Copenhagen time).
Interviews are scheduled to take place towards the end of October 2008.

Please note that the selected candidate must be available and prepared to take up duty by 31 January 2009.
Conditions
Duration of Assignment: Initial appointment of one year, renewable for up to a maximum of two years.
Grade/Step: First year: L-1/1 (equivalent to P-1/1), Second year: L-2/1 (P-2/1).
All Candidates must:
- Be under 32 years of age on the date of their application;
- Have completed a university education at Master's degree level in a relevant area of study OR have completed a university education at Bachelor's degree level
with a minimum of three years' relevant working experience;
- Be committed to the UN values, highly motivated, professional, have good interpersonal skills and be able to adapt to a multi-cultural environment.
- Be fluent in French and possess a working knowledge of English. Fluency in other UN languages can be an asset and may be tested in the interview.
- Be a national of one of the eligible developing countries (please click here to see the list of eligible countries).
- Have obtained either their first or second degree university education in an eligible developing country.
- May not apply for a post in their own country.
- Not have been working earlier as JPO/APO/JE/AE.

General Conditions
The following conditions apply for all the advertised positions.

Candidates with Dutch nationality and those with permanent resident status in The Netherlands must have a good command of the Dutch language and may only apply for positions under the Dutch "quota".
