    Eligible candidates are requested to submit an online application when applying to a specific vacancy.

    The position is open to the following groups:

    • Dutch nationals
    • nationals of other EU Member States
    • official permanent residents of the Netherlands
    • nationals from eligible developing countries .

    Timeline

    The deadline for receipt of applications is 12 midday (Copenhagen time) on July 2010.

    Telephone interviews are expected to take place in mid August 2010. Only candidates short-listed for interview will be contacted.

    Please note that all selected candidates must be prepared to take up duty within eight weeks after selection!

    General Conditions

    Duration of Assignment: Initial appointment of one year, renewable up to a maximum of three years.

    Grade/Step: First year: P-1/1, Second year: P-2/1, Third year: P-2/2.

    All Candidates must:

    • Have completed a study relevant to international co-operation concluding in a university degree at M.Sc./M.A. level; or a study relevant to international co-operation concluding in a degree at B.Sc./B.A. level, followed by a minimum of three years of working experience;
    • Be committed to the UN values, highly motivated, professional, have good interpersonal skills and be able to adapt to a multi-cultural environment;
    • Be fluent in English and possess a working knowledge of at least one other UN language. Fluency in other UN languages can be an asset and may be tested in the interview;
    • Only apply for positions outside their country of origin;
    • Not have worked previously as a JPO/APO/YPO/AE.

    Tips and recommendations for your online application:

      Please list any relevant work experience you have. You may include internships, part-time or voluntary work as well as full-time paid work - but please indicate if it is unpaid or part-time. It is important to include a detailed description of the main responsibilities and tasks you carried out during each period of employment.


    • Training courses and international experience:
      Please mention any relevant training courses that you have attended under question 24 or question 30. Please remember to indicate in question 30 any international experience you may have.
